I’m currently reading two novels at the moment as I have serious multitasking skills. I’m reading Julie Presley’s Stones of Remembrance and Belinda Williams’ Radiant. Both are great reads, both are well written and both are excellent examples of their genre and yeah, both are indie authors who might not have been published if they hadn’t taken the initiative to do so themselves. This is why I love indie!
Belinda’s Radiant is a fast paced thriller with a super natural twist. Set in the city of Sydney Australia, Radiant is a story about angels, demons and a girl on the run. As I’ve been reading I’ve really been drawn into the story and intrigued about the ideas behind it and seriously impressed with her story telling skills. I really think that this could be a popular novel as Belinda is excellent at creating tension, fast-paced action, romance, likeable characters and the story grabs you, pages turning at lightning speed! Amazing work Belinda!
My other read is Julie’s Stones of Remembrance which is a Christian romance novel. I don’t typically read books like this but I wanted to check it out because Julie is a fellow blogger as well as a fellow indie and I was curious. Julie really brings us into the story as well and she’s created the emotional moments perfectly. I also really liked her use of God as a character in the story who speaks to her main characters, not out loud necessarily, but in ways that they can understand. And the struggle to do the “right” thing is very well done and one scene in particular got me teary eyed as her main character wrestled with why her sister died and why God had allowed this to happen. It was very human and touching. I can’t wait to see where both of these stories end up. I’ll tell you, I’ve been very impressed with my fellow Indies and I actually have some other books in line to read next, Casey Voight’s The Dove and LW Patrick’s Shadow of Wrath. I’ll keep you posted.

Step right up, it’s about to get crazy in the hizzy
